Heavily textured abstract landscape with a tall golden opening right of centre, containing a small peach-coloured disc. Broad grey and brown ridges cross the middle and curve around the light, with patches of muted blue along the left and lower-right edges.
A tall, irregular opening of pale yellow, cream and amber occupies the centre-right of the painting. A small peach and rose-coloured disc sits within its upper half, outlined in places by darker brown. Below it, gold continues towards the bottom edge through a narrowing, broken passage.
Broad masses of warm grey and taupe surround the light. A thick band slopes across the upper edge of the opening, while long, raised strokes extend from the left through the middle, partly interrupting the luminous area. Curving ridges beneath them form overlapping folds.
Muted blue and blue-green appear along the left side and lower-right edge. Earth-brown patches gather in the lower centre, enclosed by sweeping grey lines. Across the surface, fine incised marks mingle with thicker crests and small protrusions of paint. The contrast between the enclosing grey forms and the golden interior suggests an opening, although no definite doorway or horizon is depicted.
Beyond the grey folds, a warmth appears. The opening is narrow, its edges uneven, but light reaches through and settles along the ridges. A small rose-gold sun seems suspended on the other side. We pause at the threshold, sensing a distance we cannot yet measure, while the glow draws us a little nearer.
