Rivers of Time

A small pale moon glows within swirling blue on the upper right. Silver-grey and muted gold textures cross the sky. Dark rugged land fills the lower half, threaded with branching pale blue and white lines.

Textured abstract landscape with a small pale moon in circular blue strokes on the right. Grey and muted gold spread overhead. Dark brown and blue foreground forms are threaded with turquoise and fine silver-white lines.

A small grey-white moon glimmers above and right of centre, surrounded by broad circular movements of blue. Across the top, pale grey, silver and subdued yellow mingle in rough patches. Below, darker brown, charcoal and blue forms interlock across the foreground. Bright turquoise appears between them, while thin white and silver lines descend, curve and branch across the surface. These marks suggest channels or traces through layered terrain, without describing a definite river. The painting holds a contrast between the expansive blue and the densely worked ground.

Time travels through the land in channels we cannot always see. A line disappears beneath a dark fold, then returns as a silver thread. Above, the moon keeps its quiet distance. We trace these imagined rivers through the surface, following what remains of moments that have already passed.
