Movement of Light, number nine.
Broken cream-white cloud fills the upper half. Dark vertical strokes descend on the left, while a curved pale sweep crosses the lower centre and right. Reddish-brown shading meets a narrow ochre and blue-grey foreground.
There is a pull downwards, then a lifting turn. The brushstrokes carry that movement through the sky.
Rain seems to hang in the distance, softening the boundary between sea and sky. The music reaches us through the wind, carrying its own unsettled weather. Across the water, the dark advances slowly. We feel the uncertainty of being here, unable to see what comes next.
