Movement of Light, number nineteen.
A bright white curved cloud edge rises on the upper left. A large dark grey mass occupies the right, crossed by muted ochre strokes. Sandy-gold foreground lies beneath a thin pale horizon.
The bright edge gives the cloud its turning shape. Behind it, the atmosphere feels heavy and expansive.
The cloud leans across the water. Will the storm come ashore, or follow some unseen course beyond us? We watch its bright edge. The uncertainty seems to deepen the light, making each opening feel momentous, as though something might be revealed and withdrawn before we understand it.
